Sorso Announces New GM and Sommelier Troy Tranzow

Sorso Wine Room in Scottsdale Quarter is excited to announce the hire of our new general manager and sommelier Troy Tranzow. Troy is a level 2 certified sommelier in the Court of Master Sommeliers, and he comes to us from previous roles at Mastro’s City Hall and Eddie V’s.

Troy is already diligently working to refresh our extensive 150+ bottle wine list, and he will be developing some exciting new sommelier-driven wine and food events. We hope you’ll drop into Sorso soon to meet Troy and talk wine with him, whether you’re a true wine aficionado or just a friendly wine lover like us.

David Sconzo, our previous GM, is pursuing another professional direction but will remain an integral part of the Sorso family.

A sommelier, also known as a “somm” or wine steward, has undergone training in order to become knowledgeable about wine. Certification is not required to be a sommelier, but it does indicate that a sommelier has acquired broad knowledge in wine history, wine production techniques, and wine and food pairing.

Visit us soon and help us welcome Troy Tranzow, certified sommelier and general manager, to Sorso Wine Room.
